Wilson Lake Ice Fishing
Went ice fishing a couple weeks ago with my brother in law and nephew. Ice was about 6 inches thick and about 15 people on the ice. We got out there just a little after lunchtime and the weather was just perfect it was about 50 degrees and no wind. we got set up on the ice and talked to several older guys on the lake about what to use for bait and they told us castmasters and bucktail jigs were working for striper, white bass and white perch. They also let us use some of their ice fishing holes so that we didn't have to drill any new ones. we sat for a little while with no luck but were seeing a few others pull in some nice fish. My brother in law and nephew moved about 25 yards to the southwest of me and after awhile started pulling in some white perch. After i would so about an hour and a half to two hours my nephew pulled in about a 6 pound striper. this was fun to see and help pull the fish out of the hole for him. I did not catch anything that day for whatever reason but did have a few bites but my brother in law managed to pull in some white bass. It was fun since i have not ice fished since i was a child. i will hopefully be doing this again soon.
