I have been a fisherman since I was about 10 years old, fishing everywhere from the New River and several stocked trout streams around my hometown of Blacksburg, to Cape Cod, and most of Maine. For the past two summers I have been on weeklong fishing trips to northern Ontario for smallmouth, pike and walleye. This year I'm staying in the US and heading to Thousand Islands, NY for more of the same.
I love surf fishing in the ocean, but prefer the fast moving waters of a river first and foremost, with the calm waters of a lake as my second choice.

Inaugural Kayak Trip Swift Creek Res

Took my new fishing kayak out to Pocahontas State Park and fished the Swift Creek Reservoir. No fish, but a good time with the new yak. Good place to practice, second time I have been here with little success. Wouldn't recommend fishing here.

Lake Caroline Largemouth

Fished private Lake Caroline weekend of May 9, 2009--caught several nice largemouth myself, while a friend of mine caught a gorgeous 5 pounder.

James River Striper

Fished the banks of the James next to the Mayo bridge at peak low tide in the heat of the day with 2-3oz diamond spoons. Caught 14 in an hour and 45 minutes. Largest were 24 inches, heaviest was at least 7 pounds.
