The Smallmouth Bass record comes from Goose Pond, noted for it's warm water species. Average ice-out is in the latter part of April. May and June are productive months to fish the pond. Fishing is excellent through the fall with exceptionally good ice fishing. Goose pond offers ample opportunity to catch exceptionally large fish, particularly Bass and Pickerel. Ice fishing for Yellow Perch is excellent either with tip-ups or by jigging with fishing poles when a school of Yellow Perch is in the area. In summer, the lightly developed 6.3 miles of shoreline and the rocky bottom offer unlimited fishing opportunities. Free access is available at an unpaved public launching site on the northeastern part of the pond.

Goose Pond is a 625-acre (2.5 km2)[1] water body located in Grafton County in western New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Canaan and Hanover. The lake is part of the Mascoma River watershed, flowing to the Connecticut River.
