Forest Lake and the Forest Lake State Park are located along Route 116, west of the town center. Forest Lake State Park still remains a day-use facility offering swimming and picnicking around the lovely Forest Lake. Attractions - Forest Lake State Park is located in the Great North Woods Travel Region and remains a favorite state park facility. Since 1935, visitors have enjoyed swimming and picnicking along the shores of Forest Lake. This mountainous regions is just a few miles east of the beautiful Connecticut River. Hiking and fishing opportunities abound in the region as well as wildlife viewing and winter sports. Recreation - Swimming along the 200-foot sandy beach is enjoyed each year between mid-June and Labor Day. A bathhouse is available for changing. Picnic tables and a playground are centrally located. There is a day-use fee of $2.50, children 11 and under are free.
